SaveTNet is a Non Profit Company, which aims to save lives by creating awareness of responsible online engagement for the youth and their parents with the support of national and international parties involved.
People are committing suicide because of cyber bullying. The statistics on cyber bullying and cyber crime, plus daily exposure to information on violence against women and children indicate a serious problem. The platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp are not bad and these platforms allow us to share uplifting messages and make a positive impact. However, it also opens the door to negative influencers.
People need to realize that their value is not determined by their social media status, their Twitter following or even their Klout socres. Parents of teenage children and youth in their early 20s did not grow up with social media and the challenges it create and therefore, do not know how to deal with this ever-changing situation. This affords us the opportunity to create mindsets to focus on responsible engagement and content creation by influencing society and the companies that create these remarkable platforms.
